My Art

My process as an artist is

intuitive.

I would compare it to the  difference between working by the light of a match

(deliberately)
and working by

the light of the sun

(intuitively).

My performance work began with a challenge to create a new way

of thinking about installation.

I went from making installations for

the viewer

to creating environments in which to present myself.

I design
the space, the costume, the make-up, the script, and

the cadence of my voice;

all are carefully considered before

presenting oneself as
the primary object for observation.

Performance also changed the way I was writing, as well as the way

I make art.

I am remade by the synergy that comes from combining
diverse styles of writing, concrete formation of ideas,

and varied processes of art-making.
